Ihre Musik definieren sie als new electronic musiv based on synthesizers and drums.

++++++

In 1995, Dirk Herweg, Boris Polonski and Jaki Liebezeit formed Club Off Chaos with the intention of entering new musical territory with modified equipment calling it new electronic musiv based on synthesizers and drums. The members' backgrounds seem to have lead up to this eventual result, finally culminating in the release of their self-titled debut in 1998.

Jaki Liebezeit's history may be most widely known and appreciated. Certainly best known for his work as drummer in the legendary and influential German group, Can, Liebezeit's musical career began years before the group's formation. After leaving school in 1961, Liebezeit began performing jazz with the likes of Chet Baker and Tete Montoliu, and he began studying various ethnic music. Returning to his home in Cologne, Germany, he performed free jazz for years before joining Can in 1968. After Can's disbanding in '78, Liebezeit did some studio freelance drumming and formed Phantomband and Drums of Chaos (a group consisting entirely of drummers). Since 1982 he has been a frequent collaborator with Jah Wobble and had numerous jobs as a studio musician, appearing on many albums from Gianna Nannini to Depeche Mode.

Boris Polonski was born in Kiev in 1972; by 1984 he began composing music. By the time he was thirteen, he played piano, violin, and violoncello, and was interested in electronic music. (After one particular cello lesson, his teacher turned to him and said, "Mr. Polonski, either you become a cello player or you keep programming drum computers." Polonski bought a sampler with the proceeds of the cello sale.) In 1990, he turned pro and joined the Ensemble Modern, with whom he performed "An die Vorwelt" as a synthesizer soloist at the Cologne Philharmonic.

Dirk Herweg spent his formative years in Germany, where he enjoyed twenty years creating, building, and playing stringed instruments. As one of the first punk guitarists in Germany, Herweg played with Bad Little Dynamos, The Unknown Cases, and Rausch.

In 1995, the three men formed Club Off Chaos, with Liebezeit on drums, Polonski on synthesizers, and Herweg on strings. After doing several international shows, including the CMC festival in London and Music Action in Nancy, Club Off Chaos went to Conny Plank's legendary studio to record their self-titled debut album.

The Change Of The Century is Club Off Chaos' second album which so far has only been available in France.

During the last year CLUB OFF CHAOS did some remarkable performances as part of the CAN SOLO PROJECTS tour all over Europe.
